Welcome to my studio homepage!
I have been teaching piano lessons in a variety of ways for 30 years. I am excited to help you (or a loved one) learn to love playing the piano! Teaching piano lessons is my passion!
I received a degree from Weber State University in Piano Performance and continue to hone my skills as a teacher and performer as I continue to take lessons from Dr. Yu-Jane Yang at WSU.
About Me!
I was born and raised in Kaysville, Utah. I started taking lessons when I was 5 years old. When I was in eighth grade, my piano teacher passed away, and as a result, I took on several of her students. I have been teaching ever since.
I attended WSU where I studied piano lessons with Dr. Yu-Jane Yang. I attended on a full accompanying scholarship, and was also chosen to be the recipient of the Ruth Stevenson scholarship, and the Sophie Wetherell Reid Scholarship. I spent many hours in practice rooms practicing my own repertoire as well as the repertoire of many vocalists, violinists, cellists, a percussionist, and even a ballet class! I also accompanied the Concert and Chamber Choirs on many occasions. I was chosen to play in the annual concerto night with the WSU symphony orchestra in both my junior and senior years.
I grew so much as a teacher while at Weber State University. Dr. Yang gave me the opportunity to teach in the University Piano Preparatory Program in both a private lesson and a group lesson format. During my senior year, I had the opportunity to teach group piano to music majors and minors. After graduation, I taught as an adjunct faculty member until my family moved to Pennsylvania.
Currently, I am working as an adjunct professor at WSU, teaching Group Piano Classes. I also continue to hone my skills as a performer and teacher by continuing my piano lessons with Dr. Yang. I am a member of the Music Teachers National Association, the Utah Music Teachers Association, and the National Federation of Music Clubs.
I am the wife of a handsome husband, the mother of 6 awesome children, and 1 cute dog. In addition to teaching piano lessons, I love to travel, read, garden, mountain and road bike, and make homemade ice cream!
